Role Summary

As the Staff Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our projects and ensuring their successful execution. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will serve as a key technical advisor to our sales teams, project managers, and developers. Your expertise will guide the selection of technology stacks, solve complex technical challenges, and ensure the technical viability and excellence of our solutions. This role is designed for a technical leader who is equally comfortable in strategic planning and hands-on technical problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

    • Sales Support: Assist the sales team with technical quotes and proposals, ensuring they are feasible, competitive, and aligned with client goals and agency capabilities.
    • Technical Leadership: Work closely with the project teams to select the best development team for each project, based on technical requirements and project goals.
    • Project Collaboration: Provide ongoing technical guidance to project managers, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and effectively. Participate in sales and project calls to offer a technical perspective.
  • Technical Project Setup and Teardown: Ensure that projects are appropriately resourced for launch, and then ensure they are appropriately backed up and brought down following project completion. Monitor deployments for errors or availability issues.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Address and resolve technical issues as they arise, from choosing the appropriate technology stack to troubleshooting deployment issues and developer challenges.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the agency’s technical strategy, ensuring our technology choices and practices position us for continued success and growth.
  • Mentorship and Development: Serve as a mentor to team members, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.


  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role within a digital agency, software development firm, or related environment.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in multiple technology stacks and a deep understanding of web and mobile application development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address technical challenges and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including sales teams and clients.
  • Experience in technical project management, with a track record of leading projects to successful completion.
  • Leadership qualities, with the ability to mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
